A day I will always remember Feb 22, 2010, my journey that started with flight to Geneva Airport.
Upon arrival a young Eritrean Nur waited for us with a flag on his hand and guided us to the train station with his sweet
mixed Tigrigna and French accent. One of us pondered a question how big Geneva was and Nur said " Geneva, Nieshtey Eyu,
Darga Asmera". He then quickly rushed towards the arrival exit to collected yet more people.In the mean time, we went
on to make a quick phone call to one Halal wedi, who relied to me "where are you" and I told him we just walked
out on to the Airport foyer. Halal wedi probably didn't hear me properly and asked me if I see Eritrean crowd,I replied
yeah! and Halal wedi said "well then stay there I am coming". We sat while chatting with most the guys there. One
whom came from London, who left his wife pregnant in the last days of her pregnancy. One of the lady said "why did you
have to do that" and his reply was
swift; Shikorina! He said "there is no way I could have stayed at
home while injustice is leveled at Eritrea and I have to be here and flight back the same evening after the peaceful demonstrations.
I was amazed at the simplicity of his answer in a big situation; in fact his flight was cancelled that evening and traveled
back with us on the next day. In the meant time Nur collected enough people and took them all to the train as if they were
all children, while we waited for Halal wedi, looking for him everywhere. We made a repeated calls to Halal wedi and the misunderstanding
was he thought we were at the Geneva train station. Nur was running back to the arrival exit as we called him his sweet words
were "ewuy kisab hiji alekum abzi". He then said "come and sit here don't go anywhere I will be back with
more people". We laughed at his reaction so did he and vanished towards the arrival exit. We continued discussing at
his sweet expressions; he left
someone in charge of collecting more people and he came back and walked us to the
station. He made sure we got our tickets that he gave us for free and sat us in one of the coachs. We continued our journey
and we waived bye and a decent smile with it.... See more
In about five minutes we arrived at Gard Cananir central
Geneva station to be received by First Halal wedi, whom I never saw before except one tiny photo some time back, somehow it
gave me a clue I shouted Halal! He said Wedihagherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! We hugged and looked at each other with him were Tecleweini,
Sawa, Direone and more others we greeted the Eritrean way.
As we were lead towards Le Café Du port Eritrean
owned Restaurant, there we found the entire Aynifalale Crowd with all the amazement at finding out the faces behind the paltalk
nicks. I went rough the crowd shaking hands to every single one of them with the exception of Oprah, who refused to shake
my hands, not knowing who she was. Oprah then asked me who she was and I said say something so that I can recognize you. Oprah
mentioned a code we used as whisper, I was really take in by a shock. Wedi afa and Teckelweini were busy with the restaurateur
ordering the food and drink while Badme entertains us with his loud hailed; his often words were ....nikid Tiray! Meaning
...let us march on! Tecleweini came with some badges to give us to identify who we were, great idea! We ate, danced and photos
were taken amongst ourselves. I began to read the badges and relate them to the actual people I know only by their voices.
It was strange feeling, I have know these
people for sometime only to see their faces was moving experience. We
went ourside the café with Tedalo, Karnie, Teshamo and hadnet and stared talking about our behaviors at the paltalk;
then came comboni with his usual Tigrean Tigrigna Lawzy-lawzy aytebuluna, we all laughed. I didn't see much of a difference
with comboni of paltalk and real comboni, always joker. Tecleweini suggested we make a move towards the assembly point not
far from the café. All agreed and one last music was played we all danced and stared our journey to the huge hilly
park near the Geneva train station. On the way I met some friends from London; it really felt Asmera every person on the street
seemed to me Eritrean. Then we headed towards the corner of the park where there was huge tree, where it ended up as our base.
There were crowds with countless Eritrean flags and the flags of country they came from. Each crowd having its own music band.
To the left of the park were very rowdy crowd with Eritrea, Oromo and Somali flags showing their solidarity with the Eritreans
against the odd sanction based on nothing but lies.
While waiting to walk towards the United Nations European HQ,
we started meeting more and more people, primo and tecleweini were very busy updating the paltalk people who could only follow
via internet. Primo was going around asking us our feeling and observations about the participations of Eritreans some of
which travelled 25-30 hours just to be there, one can only feel proud and with amazement about the dedication of Eritreans
for what they perceive is right.
One the fascinating observation was the complete lack of police officers, unlike
what I am use to in London, any demonstration accompanied by hundreds if not thousands of officers, there war non other than
dozen of them to guide the Geneva commuters away from marching route. At the end of the march there was not a single litter
left on the marching route or square, which might compensate to the exemplary patience of the Genevans, which we entertained
by the latest Eritrean music "...Nikid Tiray! Biray Nab Zebele Yebil, Erfi Yetsnie Qiltsimna!".
In conclusion,
the UN got the petitions, what was left was for them to evaluate their actions, that were hijacked for the interests of the
USA and satellite nations such as the UK. No Eritrean expects they reverse their action as the powerful nation is not willing
to give up their interest so easly. But the World and those who came up with this travesty of justice, unjust UN resolution
1907, know well that Eritreans stand united and shown solidarity with the actions of the Eritrea government of under the banner
of once again
Doctors can save Eritrean lives,...Construction people can make buildings.... scientists
can pump up minerals, they can tell us HIV is bad for us...these chemicals Bla blab....
Oh yes...I like Eritrea !!!!
Now especially young people here you really
got to Focus on Eritrea's future...don't just think you're here to hang out. Something really important !!!
You have a long life left.....

THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from the
Blacks without the effort of physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE,
GREED, and SELFISHNESS.
Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, 'The best
way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.' We now live in the Information Age.. They have gained
the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There
are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes &Noble, and Amazon.com, not to mention their own Black Bookstores
that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently,
if at all..
GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large
amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars
in total yearly income (2.22%).
Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to
dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed.
They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing.
They would rather buy some new sneaker
than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, And they still think
that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them 'Status' or that they have achieved their Dream.
They
are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making
better communities.
With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images
into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them,
saying he doesn't want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They'll continue
to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.
SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One
of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture.. A 'Talented Tenth' he called it. He
was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some 'form' of success.
However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn't read that the 'Talented Tenth' was
then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life.. Instead, that segment has created another
class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what
we have.. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When
they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem
to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.
They are content to sit in
conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers,
not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that Together Each Achieves More
(TEAM).
They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own, as a matter of
fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens
in our offices and our rooms.
Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to
buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are 'helping' their communities by paying dues to organizations which
do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don't worry about any of them reading this letter,
remember, 'THEY DON'T READ!!!!

4th Consecutive Victory for Zeresenay and great Team effort
for Eritrea. EAAA would like to congratulate the Eritrean national Half marathon team for a great result while acknowledging
that Zeresenay Tadesse has become the most dominant runner in the world in half marathon racing where he has won his 4th straight
IAAF half marathon race in Birmingham, England. Zeresenay dominated the race by registering a time of less than an hour (59.35)
where his closest competition Kenya's Benard Kiprop Kipyego finshed at 59:59 and 24 seconds behind which is a big gap
in the sport of running. Meanwhile Eritrea's up and coming star Samuel Tsegay finished at 5th place and a new star in
the making Adhanom Abraha finished at 19th place along side of Tesfahiwet Ghebretinsae and Yemane Teame who are all up and
coming stars by helping the Eritrean team to a silver in this year's half marathon. In the Women's race Furtuna Zegergish
did not disappoint as she finished at number 24 with a time of 1:11:56. Congratulations to the Eritrean delegation for a job

There was a poem/ speech written and read in Kunama language. I was distracted when a short translation was given by btseyti
Muna, but I have requested to get the whole text and translations....This brought memory of a discussion we had in UK YPFDJ,
whether we are inclusive of all 9 Bhers /tribes of Eritrea. And a smart answer was, if you have your people from all tribes
all good, but if you only have a few there is nothing you can do. That discussion equipped me to learn there is our people
of Kunama origin in particular area and was heart warming the NA YPFDJ is embracing them. *

On a personal note: Thank you so much to Berhane Gebrehiwet
for his trust in me to allow me to join in YPFDJ and learn, and hope to serve the nation a bit more. He started us on a committee
to augment the trust fund and adopt 700 families in 2004. I would like to say to him...we have made it. We hit our target
and exceeded...and that is what I call GOOD leadership.

The Eritrean Dream Team (EDT).
EDT are a group of young individuals who are very
proud to be Eritrean and believe that we have the opportunity to live our idyllic Eritrean dream. We believe that we are able
to hold Eritrean events for young people to raise money and awareness on certain subjects and also to build up the young community.
The name EDT came as we all have a dream and wish to fulfill the dreams of many Eritrean nationals.
The issue of Martyrs
and Disabled Nationals is one of the key challenges of nation building in Eritrea. Although “national”
in nature and in scale, it has been left in the hands of the nationals. We as a group have decided to be 'independent' in
our mission although ultimately we will be assisted by our government in trying to reach our goal/target which is to assist
those that need help.
'Stand up For Eritrea'
- A talent showcase that aims to promote talent in its various forms (dance, songs, poetry etc) to be held @ Rhythm Factory
on 18th of July 2009. The aim of this event is simple: To try and raise as much money as possible on the given
night. We hope to capitalize / maximize revenue through ticket sales/gate receipts/raffles/auctions/food etc on
the day.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO MARTYRS FAMILY PROGRAM!
We hope to ensure all those who participate,
that the raised funds will have a positive change with tangible evidence. We also hope to create awareness in terms of nation
building and the on going programmes that we can and should be a part of (I.e. Martyrs family programme) how we as young Eritreans
in the Diaspora can play a part. We believe the time has come for us to work on our initiative and give help assistance to
those that need it most.

Talks tame exuberant
Eritreans

AMID fears the world cross country championships, to be staged in
Edinburgh on 30 March, could be marred by a very unusual form of crowd trouble, a meeting was convened last week to
discuss "spectator access and venue security."
Which could be a euphemism for: "controlling exuberant Eritreans."
In a nutshell, the people of the tiny African state of Eritrea are passionate supporters of their biggest sporting hero,
Zersenay Tadese, the reigning world cross country champion and "the David Beckham of Eritrea." But in previous editions of the Nova Edinburgh cross-country, including
last month's, they have been a little - how to put it delicately - over-exuberant.
So when news reached
the organisers of the world championships that400 Eritreans are expected to travel from East Africa, in addition to the
expatriate community resident in Britain,
they got a little worried, not least because a tradition of theirs is to spill into the finish area, and lift Tadese
towards the heavens - regardless of how he has run.
"We understand the need for the Eritrean supporters to
be physically close to their hero," said Edinburgh 2008 Competitions Manager Alex Jackson, after what was described
as a constructive meeting with the Eritrean expat community in Britain.
"There's no concern over their intent," clarified Scottish Athletics' chief executive, Geoff Wightman.
"They're very nice people, and they were receptive to what we had to say, but it relies now on goodwill."
Which
means the Eritreans sticking to allowing only two of their members to enter the finish zone. They had better select the
strong ones if Tadese is to be raised into the air.
